Called Up Baseball Recruiting is a dedicated recruiting service built to guide athletes and families through one of the most important decisions of their lives—finding the right college fit both on and off the field.
We combine real baseball knowledge, honest mentorship, and a personalized approach to help players navigate the recruiting process with clarity and confidence. We believe recruiting is about more than earning an offer—it’s about finding the right opportunity for long-term success in athletics, academics, and life.

Ryan
Schwertman
Ryan has dedicated himself for over two decades to baseball, blending his passion for the game with extensive experience across various levels. After graduating from Lakeville Senior High School in 2000, he pursued higher education at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul, where he played baseball and earned a degree in psychology.
Since 2002, Ryan has been a prominent figure in youth, high school, and Legion baseball circuits. He spent five seasons coaching at Prior Lake High School, including three years as the head varsity baseball coach. His commitment to player development led him to the private sector, where he has trained athletes and managed teams, showcasing his leadership in full-facility operations.
Beyond coaching, Ryan expanded his expertise by working as an analyst for Inside Edge, a scouting bureau, which paved the way for a role as a recruitment advisor which he has been doing ever since. This experience culminated in an associate scouting position with the Cincinnati Reds, allowing him to merge his analytical skills with his love for baseball.
Currently, Ryan continues to inspire young athletes, drawing from his comprehensive background in playing, coaching, analytics, and facility management. His holistic approach to baseball development emphasizes both on-field excellence and personal growth.
